BRIEF

It is my honest with that you are all enjoying Thanksgiving with family and friends that you love.

I have been on the high speed train of introspection and reflection since I was sick last January and here are a few things that I’ve been thinking about. These are in no particular order…

  • It is hard to be sad when you are feeling useful
  • In times of trouble, stress and hard situations, nothing is more important than people
  • Face to face conversation are always better than the security blanket that you are likely holding in your hand right now. Shut it off, go visit with people
  • Cherish old memories and make new ones as often as you can. When you reach the end, it is all that you will have left
  • Eat the cookie, it’s not going to matter
  • Spend the money, it’s not going to matter
  • Take the trip, it’s going to matter
  • When I was laying in the hospital wondering if I was going to live, I never once thought: “Gee, I wish I worked more”
  • Read the one just above this again
  • Do something about it. No one really wants to hear everyone else bitch and complain.
  • I love my two children more deeply than I have ever loved anyone or anything
  • Don’t ever waste a day doing nothing. Someone somewhere wants to hear your voice. Call them and talk
  • Plan all you want, but don’t forget that the universe often has other plans
  • Worrying about things that might not happen is a waste of time and energy
  • If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room
  • Everyone’s favorite subject is themselves
  • I have spoken with dozens of old friends this year who I have lost touch with, often calling them out of the blue. Everyone thought something was wrong. It was exactly the opposite
  • I want to thank everyone who is reading this for letting me be a part of your life

Stay safe, stay awesome, and stay tuned
