Those of you who have read my words know that I love a great quote. Who doesn’t love a great quote? I don’t believe in Beatles. I just believe in me.
You see, history will be kind to me, because I intend to write it. I ask not what my country can do for me, but what I can do for my country……’tis of thee.
All along I am thinking that there must be some other way out of here. But alas, the only way out is through, and so we all shine on.
Elementary my dear Watson, it is obvious that 80% of success is simply showing up. Simply holding back the years will not do it as time is the infinite jest.
Actually, if the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would seem to man as it is….infinite. When one door opens, another one closes. Open the doors yourself. We all know that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. If you build it, they will come, and if you are going through hell while building it…keep going.
Do or do not. There is no try. United we stand, divided we fall. While we are on the subject of doors; behind each door lies a path. I took the one less traveled by and it has made all the difference. Celebrate all differences, and be the change that you want to see in the world so you can learn why the caged bird sings. Maybe someone needs to open the door. Let my love open the door….to your heart. I will be the captain, and you can draw the chart…..sailing into destiny….closer to the heart.
A heart full of love. It’s better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all. This much is true. To thyself be true because the truth will set you free. Free, free, set me free at last. Free at last.
I have a dream that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Oh the humanity. To err is human; to forgive, divine. Forgiveness may be one small step for a man, but one giant leap for mankind. Forgive often, and if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
Again the world goes round and round while the only things that are guaranteed are death and taxes. Seek and you shall find that you can always count on the kindness of strangers. Don’t be a stranger. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Closer to the heart. Closer to the heart.
Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn if the quote doesn’t resonate with me. If they do resonate with me, they go ahead and make my day. So, everything that you just read is a warmup to the passage that I recently found that I think describes me completely. Truly, madly, deeply.
All thanks to George Bernard Shaw for, what it seems to be his words speaking directly to me:
“At your age I looked for hardship, danger, horror, and death, that I might feel the life in me more intensely. I did not let the fear of death govern my life; and my reward was, I had my life. You are going to let the fear of poverty govern your life; and your reward will be that you will eat, but you will not live…
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy…
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake.
Life is no “brief candle” for me.
It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.“
That’s it. That’s me. Especially the last three paragraphs. Now you know that the more you know is that it gets late early, so may the force be with you.
But don’t quote me on that. I never said all the things I said.
Parting is such sweet sorrow, so until we meet again….live long, and prosper.
Stay safe, stay awesome and stay tuned. Patriots 24, Seattle 21. Let’s GO.
